Partnership with God.

From the beginning, mankind was created to be in partnership with God.

We understand that we are invited into relationship with God, but we tend to shy away from the idea of being a partner with God.  Through the fall of man, the enemy robbed us of our original purpose and identity, and still today we feel unworthy to be who God always intended us to be.  Man’s original design and purpose was to walk in close relationship with God and then out of that relationship, partner with him to see his plans and purposes established here on earth.

I believe God is calling us back.  Not just to a relationship but to a partnership.

So, what does a partnership with God look like?

When we spend the time to build our relationship with God at the deepest levels of our heart, we begin to long for the same thing he longs for… restoration.  As our hearts beat together for the same thing, we can work together to see it accomplished.  I shared a bit more about partnership with God in this short devotional video.

Jesus was our ultimate example in all things and partnership with God was one of them.  Often Jesus would retreat to the wilderness away from the crowds to spend time alone with God.  Time in prayer to realign his focus, listen to what the Father was saying and being refreshed and empowered to step out again into ministry.

Every divine conversation and interaction, every miracle and healing that Jesus performed was birthed in his relationship with the Father.

What if we approached life like this too.  What if we were to spend time daily in the presence of God before we step out into our day and allow him to speak into our hearts about his will and plans for us and the people around us for that day.  What if we walked into every room, conversation and situation with the heartbeat of God himself.  Most of the time if we are honest, we are approaching our day in our own energy and ability and that is far less appealing than what God wants to do in and through us.

With one ear open to heaven and one ear open to what’s happening around us, we can hear what the Father is saying and respond the way he would to the situations we find ourselves in at home, at work and in our community every day.  We can approach every simple daily task as though we are on assignment for the King.

As we partner with him, we also become a voice.  A voice for everything that is good, loving, full of truth and hope.  A voice that our world needs to hear.  I fear sometimes that we are not as effective as the church that Jesus envisioned and commissioned because we have lost our voice.  We’ve shied away from speaking words of love and hope, but that is exactly what the world around us needs to hear.

I’m excited to share this message with you.  It was recorded at my home church during our recent Revival Nights meetings.  I hope it inspires you to think about how you can build your partnership with God.
