My mom was the most encouraging person I’ve ever met. If you shared a dream for your life or something you were interested in doing, she would totally believe that you could do it. She spent her life cheering others on as they followed their God sized dreams. She believed in me far more than I ever believed in myself.
Four years ago today, my sweet mom stepped out of this life into the arms of her loving Savior. Over the past few years my grief has changed. It’s not that bitter heartbreaking pain anymore. Today it warms my heart to think of her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh and her constant words of affirmation.
It made me stop and think about the kind of person I want to be and the things I would like to be remembered for. I hope that I carry just a bit of her enthusiastic and super encouraging attitude. But I can’t just sit back and assume I will become this person. I need to consciously and intentionally make decisions every day to be the kind of person I want to be.
What do you want to be remembered for?
